Your First Visit

What to Expect
Your first visit to Orthodontics Only in Miami is a time for Dr. Derek Sanders and his expert team to get to know you and your needs.  The initial appointment will take 60 minutes and we will do our best to make efficient use of your time.  At the end of your appointment, you will take away a great deal of information about what problems exist, when treatment should start, the type of treatment you should have, the length of time in treatment and how much treatment will cost.

Free Initial Consultation
Your initial consultation is a free appointment during which Dr. Sanders will examine your teeth and assess any problems that can be treated with orthodontics.  He will spend time talking with you about your dental history and will review what is possible with braces, Invisalign or retainers.  You will have time to ask questions and discuss with Dr. Sanders your personal goals for achieving a pleasing esthetic smile and a functional bite.

Dr. Sanders will complete a thorough examination and will review your treatment recommendations so that you understand exactly what would be involved.  He will then discuss your appliances and give you an estimated length of time that you would be in treatment.  Today, there are a variety of procedures and technological advancements that are available for patients and Dr. Sanders will present your options and assist you in making the decision that is appropriate for your circumstances and preferences.

What is the Cost of Treatment?
After your discussion about treatment, you will continue with our treatment coordinator.  Her primary goal is to make your treatment affordable.  The total cost of treatment depends on many different factors including the appliances needed and the length of time in treatment.  There are absolutely no surprise fees and your investment includes everything that is completed in our office.  Our treatment coordinator will offer you multiple financial arrangements including 0% interest financing.  You can pay with a check, credit card or cash and we also offer a discount if you would like to pay your treatment in full.

Do You Accept Insurance?
Absolutely!  We accept assignment of benefits for all PPO insurance plans and our treatment coordinator will do the absolute best in order to get your maximum benefit from your insurance company.  Assignment of benefits means that your insurance company pays our office directly and there is no hassle for you.  Our office has almost 30 years of experience dealing with insurance companies to get our patients the maximum benefits possible.

What Are Diagnostic Records?
If you are ready to proceed with braces or Invisalign at the initial exam, we can take impressions of your teeth and schedule your appointment to start your treatment.  The diagnostic records needed for a comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis can all be taken on your initial appointment and they include study models of your teeth, radiographs (x-rays) and photographs of your teeth, face and smile.   Dr. Sanders will review these records, along with the results of the clinical examination that he conducts at your visit, before developing a mechanics plan for your individualized treatment.

Our Patients Come First.
Above all, we want you to feel comfortable with us.  We are here to help you and our entire team treats all of our patients like our own family.  We promise to listen to you and be your advocate during your orthodontic treatment.

We hope you will enjoy your time during your appointment and we will do our utmost to make your appointments pleasurable.  When you are ready to take the next step, please call our office to schedule your free initial consultation, (305) 598-3384.
